Frontline Cartographers
★★★★☆ 4.4
Frontline Cartographers is a strategy game with a weird premise: you're not conquering land, you're mapping it before your rivals do. You send out scout parties, claim regions by surveying them, and juggle supplies against the ever-shrinking daylight of each expedition.
It's turn-based and deliberate. There's no twitch pressure, just a lot of 'if I move here, they'll block me there' calculation. I love that failure is usually interesting rather than punishing — a lost scout opens up a new route for someone else.
The interface is clean and built for touch, with pinch-zoom maps that never feel cramped. A full campaign run took me about six hours, broken across a week of commutes, which is a great fit for mobile.
What we liked
- Fresh mapping-based take on strategy
- No real-time pressure, pure planning
- Campaign paced perfectly for short sessions
